Late last year, Accenture and Google Cloud announced an initiative aimed at streamlining the adoption of generative AI, ideally propelling teams towards vast operational improvements, new lines of business, and more polished overall customer experiences. Together, they launched their joint GenAI Center of Excellence (CoE) for, quote, “providing businesses with the industry-leading expertise, technical knowledge, and product resources for building and scaling applications.”
This CoE brought together Accenture’s deep model customization services and full-stack engineering services with Google Cloud’s advanced generative AI technology, providing clients with specialized access to Accenture data and AI architects and engineers (i.e. including access to Accenture’sAI Navigator platform, curated datasets and support for Google Cloud's Model Garden collection), as well as Google Gemini and 130+ models through Model Garden on Vertex AI, new rapid prototyping services, and much more. (Additional details here.)
This was (and still is) a solid development. Businesses virtually everywhere continue to see what leveraging the full power of GenAI means for their respective enterprise operations, and this joint CoE expanded and accelerated what long-term GenAI value can look like.
Today, we’ve got further updates on what else this CoE has since availed.
- Since December 2023, 45% of joint Accenture/Google Cloud clients projects have officially moved from GenAI proof-of-concepts to full production.
- More than 60 total organizations have benefitted from the CoE for quickly delivered GenAI solutions, managed services and resources. Notably, several of these are reportedly Fortune 500 companies that’ve moved from basic experimentation phases to scaled production with GenAI.
Promises backed by action, courtesy of Accenture and Google Cloud. Those involved with GenAI love to see this, surely.
But what else does this action really look like in practice, though?
Well, here’s an example: Banco BV, one of the largest financial institutions located in Brazil, was supported by Accenture and Google Cloud via the CoE. Banco BV’s CEO Gabriel Ferreira stated that “The GenCore project, developed by Banco BV, Accenture and Google Cloud, uses AI to create hyper-personalized interactions with customers, making communication 80% faster and 100 times more personalized. Fully anchored in AI and LLMs using Google Cloud’s Vertex AI, this advancement reflects our commitment to innovation and excellence in customer service.”
Here’s another: The Radisson Hotel Group (Radisson Hospitality), a renowned hotel chain with a footprint in 95+ countries, used Vertex AI and Gemini models to optimize its advertising workflows. By training AI models on extensive datasets made available through Accenture and Google Cloud’s CoE, the company created, quote, “personalized advertisements at scale, boosting the productivity of their ad teams by more than 50% while increasing revenue from AI-powered campaigns by more than 20%, enhancing the differential value they offer to the hotel owners.”
All in all, Accenture and Google Cloud are clearly investing in strategic services that support joint clients through every stage of a GenAI-related project. Read on about Accenture, its Google Cloud certifications, and more here.
