Last week, GenAI Today’s Greg Tavarez wrote about Lenovo and its series of AI PCs, explaining how they “use natural interactions, personalized LLMs, and advanced computing architectures to make computing more personal by tailoring experiences to individual users.” There’s a ton of, quote, “future-proof tech” in this piece, and Tavarez lays out the key details of Lenovo’s AI PC Fast Start solution succinctly for those interested. Read here.
Today, we’ve got another Lenovo-centric story to share:
Shortly after it revealed its AI PC Fast Start, Lenovo went on to announce a new suite of services designed to, quote, “fast-track AI transformation” by making private AI accessible to every business. As it paves its way towards a “Smarter AI for All” future ahead, Lenovo’s new services bring on-demand generative AI directly to the customer, helping businesses use its on-prem proprietary data to harness GenAI.
“With our new solutions,” one representative wrote, “businesses can build, scale, and evolve private AI faster with GPU resources on demand, AI-driven systems management, and advanced liquid cooling services.”
This announcement comes at a good time, of course; it goes part and parcel with Lenovo’s AI PC Fast Start, sure, but it’s also a clear seize-the-day capitalization of top industry trends. GenAI, by most accounts, continues to be a major investment priority for enterprises. With the latest, fully integrated services (i.e. what Lenovo has on deck here) comes the promise of empowering teams with the procurement, deployment and management of the technologies they need to best leverage GenAI for task automation, sweeping customer service improvements, and streamlining overall sustainable business operations.
Thus, by partnering with Lenovo, teams can quickly apply AI to their IT infrastructure to boost their productivity (and security) while efficiently managing the increased data center performance that AI demands.
Namely, here are the three new services Lenovo has on offer (and the details therein):
- Lenovo TruScale GPU-as-a-Service (GPUaaS) empowers users with GPU resources on demand, as we mentioned above. By taking “as-a-service” to this next level of “Smarter AI for All,” this TrueScale GPUaaS can deliver “lightning-fast GPU power through the simplicity of a scalable, pay-as-you-go model.” Additionally, this offers metered NVIDIA GPU resources and orchestration through — I mean, it’s in the name — Lenovo’s Intelligent Computer Orchestration, or LiCO. LiCO makes workload management and scheduling simpler, enabling consumption and costs to be managed for each specific workload, (allowing multiple separate organizations to effectively share the GPU resource load).
- Lenovo XClarity One delivers a, quote, “first-in-market solution to combine AI and unified systems management into a single, user-friendly platform.” With exclusive access to Lenovo’s AI-Powered Smarter Support, businesses can take a huge step forward in creating a self-optimizing IT infrastructure. The Lenovo XClarity One platform/service aids in eliminating IT guesswork by combining AI for IT operations and management capabilities as an all-in-one offering. Furthermore (through Lenovo’s new AIOps Systems Management Engine), Lenovo XClarity One features GenAI-powered predictive failure analytics, utilizing three predictive engines for fast and accurate failure detection. This capability informs IT teams (via a single, user-friendly interface) of both potential and current failures sooner than managing systems manually.
- Lenovo Power and Cooling Services, at a glance, support critical data center efficiency needs while accelerating AI-ready computing with simplified liquid cooling implementation. Vis-à-vis, Lenovo is helping customers optimize demanding AI workloads while supporting sustainability goals by providing easier access to its industry-leading liquid cooling. Following an in-depth site visit to determine power usage, cooling needs and energy efficiency, Lenovo can work with teams towards improving cost metrics, seamlessly integrating hardware, and proactively identifying and managing improvement areas so businesses can reclaim unused cooling capacity (and defer costs even more, in this way).
“Adopting our as-a-service approach and applying the right AI-powered infrastructure reduces the complexities of implementing a comprehensive AI strategy while supporting sustainability outcomes across the entire organization, from data centers to edge devices,” explained Vlad Rozanovich, Senior Vice President, Lenovo Infrastructure Solutions Group. “With Lenovo’s new AI services and solutions, we bring the GenAI to you. Businesses experience cost efficiency and flexibility in their AI integration with an approachable, pay-as-you-go solution that ignites innovation and helps ensure they stay ahead of the competition.”
