Robling and AnswerRocket Bring AI to Retail Analytics

By Greg Tavarez

The retail industry has long been a data-rich environment, generating vast amounts of information from various sources. This includes point-of-sale systems, customer loyalty programs and online transactions.

However, traditional retail systems may be struggling to effectively use this data due to several key challenges.

A big obstacle is the prevalence of siloed systems. Data is frequently fragmented across different departments and functions within a retail organization, which limits accessibility and hinders comprehensive analysis. For example, sales data might be housed in one system, while customer information resides in another. This makes it difficult to correlate these datasets and gain valuable insights.

The retail industry has also historically relied on limited analytics tools that are not designed to handle the volume of modern retail data. Traditional tools often lack the means to uncover hidden patterns, trends and predictive insights that drive strategic decision-making. This inability to extract meaningful information from data has hindered the retail industry's ability to optimize operations, improve customer experiences and gain a competitive edge.

Retailers are ready for change. In fact, a recent Accenture report revealed that 75% of retail executives see generative AI as instrumental to their revenue growth.

Seeing this demand as an opportunity, Robling and AnswerRocket recently launched their GenAI retail analytics platform.

For context, Robling helps retailers unite data across silos and unlock insights that generate millions in new revenue, increased margins and enhanced productivity across the enterprise. AnswerRocket is a GenAI consulting and analytics company that helps businesses use AI to achieve rapid, data-driven business results.

Combined, their GenAI retail analytics platform provides retailers with an AI assistant: Max. According to the announcement, "Max delivers on-demand retail insights for faster, more informed decisions to enhance performance and drive growth." AnswerRocket's advanced generative AI and Robling's in-depth retail analytics knowledge deliver a conversational business intelligence experience that's potent and easy to use.

“We’re excited to partner with Robling, a company that shares our vision for innovation in data analytics,” said Alon Goren, CEO of AnswerRocket. “Our platform will empower retailers to fully leverage their data, helping them respond quickly to trends, optimize operations, and drive meaningful growth.”

By simply asking questions in natural language, retailers gain valuable insights into their business performance. For instance, they can query Max about sales trends in specific regions, the effectiveness of marketing campaigns or the impact of recent promotions.

The platform is flexible, which allows retailers to customize Max to their specific needs. Merchandising teams can use Max to analyze trends and optimize inventory, while marketing teams can use Max to evaluate the success of campaigns and customer acquisition efforts. Additionally, the platform automates report generation, which saves time and provides timely insights into key metrics like sales performance, customer engagement and inventory levels.

The platform also offers an array of practical applications for retailers. It helps optimize inventory levels for peak seasons, identifies high-performing customer segments, pinpoints underperforming products, assesses the effectiveness of promotions and compares store performance across different product categories.

“Retailers have been seeking a simple, yet powerful way to engage with their data,” said Jeff Buck, CEO of Robling. “With our GenAI platform, querying data is as easy as having a conversation, but with the depth and accuracy of structured analytics. This is a game-changer for executives who need rapid, actionable insights.”
