Moveworks' Agentic AI Solves the Challenges of Traditional Enterprise Search

By Greg Tavarez

Knowledge workers are drowning in a sea of information. In fact, nearly half of employees waste up to two hours daily hunting for the crucial details they need, scattered across countless applications, according to an 8x8 announcement. This information fragmentation is a productivity killer.

Retrieval Augmented Generation, or RAG, initially promised to change enterprise search for the better. However, these systems admittedly do have limitations. RAG models often struggle to accurately assess the reliability of information sources. This leads to the propagation of misinformation and hallucinations. Additionally, they face challenges in scaling to large datasets.

To truly transform enterprise search, organizations need a solution that goes beyond basic RAG capabilities. They need a system that can not only retrieve information but also understand its context, prioritize its relevance and ensure its accuracy.

Moveworks solves this with a new approach: agentic AI. Rather than treating enterprise search as a shallow, simplistic retrieval process, Moveworks Enterprise Search is dynamic, goal-oriented, and intelligent thanks to an agentic Reasoning Engine that’s able to understand employee goals, develop nuanced plans and search across various business systems to return high-quality results.

Other key features include citation linking to ensure accuracy and minimize hallucinations, deep integrations with critical information repositories, and granular permission controls to safeguard sensitive data.

The platform is designed to handle large volumes of diverse data, enabling it to scale seamlessly with growing organizational needs. And lastly, powerful analytics tools provide valuable insights into user behavior, which helps organizations optimize search performance and enhance employee experiences.

“By leveraging agentic AI, we’re solving many of the key challenges that basic RAG systems couldn’t overcome,” said Varun Singh, president and co-founder of Moveworks. “Moveworks Enterprise Search aims to provide employees with accurate, up-to-date, and personalized answers, ensuring that enterprise search is no longer a pain point but a productivity driver.”

Moveworks’ core offering is its enterprise-wide Copilot, a solution that enables employees to find information, automate tasks and be more productive from within the collaboration tools. Now, with Enterprise Search, employees can effortlessly search for documents, insights and knowledge across the entire organization, all from a single, intuitive web interface.

The long-story-short of this? Organizations can expect to unlock new levels of productivity and satisfaction by delivering timely, accurate and personalized information to their workforce.
